About

I got into this work because someone pointed a camera at my town.

I make documentary films and brand stories for organizations doing work worth remembering — nonprofits, founders, and field teams in places most crews never reach.

I grew up in North Texas, in a place people mostly drove through. When a film crew came to tell a story about our county, they got it wrong — well-lit, well-scored, and wrong. That bothered me enough to pick up a camera and spend the next decade learning how to get it right.

Today I direct and shoot documentary work for nonprofits, foundations, and founders. Most of my projects begin a long way from a shot list: on a porch, in a clinic waiting room, on a fourteen-hour drive with a field director who is deciding whether to trust me. The film is the easy part. Earning the room is the work.

I also teach. Somewhere along the way I realized the most useful thing I could hand an organization wasn't another film — it was the ability to make their own. So I speak, run workshops, and train in-house teams to shoot, edit, and hold the ethical line without me in the room.

When I'm not on a project, I'm usually with my church's field partners in Guatemala and Kenya, or at home in Dallas losing an argument with a very opinionated dog.

How I work

Three rules I don't bend

These aren’t marketing lines — they are written into my production agreements, and they have cost me work.

Consent over access

Nobody appears in my work without understanding where it goes and how to take it back. Subjects see their cut before anyone else does.

Dignity over pity

No swelling strings over someone's worst day. People are shot as protagonists of their own lives, not as evidence for a fundraising ask.

Craft over volume

I take on a small number of projects a year so each one gets the time it actually needs, in the field and in the edit.
